Our Commitment to Ethical Sourcing
At Silapa, ethical sourcing means a deep commitment to supporting local businesses and craftspeople. We prioritise travelling to directly to source for our products, whenever possible, ensuring that we directly benefit the talented individuals who create these beautiful pieces, and also the villages and communities who support them.

Stories from Our Artisans
In 2017, we discovered several exquisite teak carvings in a market in Chiang Mai. We traced them to a remote village in Doi Saket, several miles East of the city. We found that the creation of these pieces was a collaborative village effort, involving a local designer and many community members at every stage of production. We've been fortunate to return several times, fostering work and generating vital income for this community.

Fair Prices and Community Support
Our direct sourcing approach is fundamental to ensuring fair treatment and equitable pricing for our artisans. By buying directly from our supply chain, we directly support those who work with traditional crafts and techniques. We are passionate about creating opportunities within local communities and maintaining strong, respectful relationships with local businesses.
"The care and dedication Silapa puts into sourcing their unique pieces are evident in every item. It’s wonderful to support such a responsible business."
